About
Nell Hull is a Midwesterner at heart, having grown up mostly in Kansas and Minnesota. They began working with clay in college and were drawn to its subtlety and versatility. Art, and clay in particular, gave them a new way of seeing the world and themselves in it. Their coil built figurative sculptures focus on themes healing, self-acceptance, and connecting to the past.
Nell graduated from Kansas State University with a Bachelor of Art degree in 2018. They are a current Artist in Residence at KC Clay Guild. Alongside their private studio practice, they teach hand-building and wheel throwing.
